Zenoviy Flinta was born on September,1 1935 in the village of Toky, Ternopil region. His desire to master painting brought him to Lviv where he studied in first in the Ivan Trush school of applied Arts.From the first years of studies infatuation with painting and love for ceramics were inseparably linked in his soul.
Zenoviy Flinta's art is firmly rooted in the traditional painting of Lviv school, his first teachers were Karlo Zvirynsky and Roman Selsky. But as time went on the artist's own individual manner and his peculiar style became more and more perceptible. In whatever genre he worked Flinta's respect for Man and Nature and thorough anderstanding of the grandeur and beuty of his native land and the Universe were always felt. Both in his painting and ceramics he sculpulously picked out and juxtaposed separate elements that were supposed to reveal the inner essence of the artifact, the basic line of its composition. Every detail was to play its role in the artistic meaning of the whole and participate in expressing the idea of work, intensify its emorional impact and help to reveal its content and temporal accents.
The artist's life was full to the brim. He successfully combined pedagogical, social and artistic activity, dividing his time among painting in numerous exhibitions both at home and abroad.
On April 2, 1988 a severe illnes brought Zenoviy Flinta's life to an umtimely end. Yet his works will always remain in the treasure-house of Ukrainian people. He was lived the years that were granted to him as a true artist, a Man of the highest creative and human excellence.

A few month befor his death Zenoviy Flinta was granted the title of the Morited Artist of Ukraine.
